a letter to me

Dear Younger Self,

stay as close as you can to your siblings. one day, they will become some of your best friends. and then you will live your life vicariously through their kids; it's okay. don't get all sad and depressed when you are home alone on a friday night....go babysitt or sit home, relax, and turn on gossip girl on netflix. you will shortly realize how much you love your life. go on as many dates in high school as you can. don't have a boyfriend... they are dumb. date all you can because once you graduate, guys are dumb and play games with you and forget the importance of asking girls on dates. it happens... so get the experience while you can. flirt lots. who cares if people think you are a player. enjoy it! when you look back on old pictures.... yes, your awkward stage lasted like 7 years of your life. literally. just laugh. laugh at the fact that your mom would call you a tall beauty and then when your grandma tells you the real meaning of the word (basically homly and not attractive, awkward) laugh about it. with your mom. not at her. speaking of moms... stay close and love her. because you might hate her and her opinion in junior high, but come high school and college life you will really learn to depend on her and trust her a lot. and believe it or not... she REALLY does have good advice. dont let drama and gossip and catty girls ruin friendships. stay close to those who really know you and care about you. they are the keepers in life. learn how to cook and clean. you will keep your mom off your back and won't feel embarrassed when people come in your room. keep make up off your dressers... it will just stain it. again, embarrassment. ease drop and pretend your sleeping when your older sister is on the phone.... remember what they say... your elementary school friends will appreciate it! :) rock high buns and skinny jeans and boots. while doing so, you will meet some really great people you will want to keep around for a while.
live life and love every minute of it. one day, you are being chased by boys on the playground, then you are awkard and taller then everyone in the school (don't worry, they will catch up. you'll stop growing and everyone else will continue too) and then you are graduating from college and working all the time. enjoy every minute of it. trust more, love seminary. love institute. it really will be a huge blessing in your life. your neighbors that you weren't too fond of, be fond of them. they will turn out to surprise you and be one of the coolest families you know! trust in the lord. he has a plan for you. heck, you chose your trials. weird, i know. but in the end they make you a way better person.

love, reagan (age 20) (and soooooo wise)
