i officially will NEVER forget this day! remember this car? this beauty? this thing that ran every day (Well most days), this vehicle i lived out of all summer? well its gone. gone. how you may ask? let me tell ya! :)

it all started on a beautiful tuesday afternoon. it was my sister lindsays birthday, and i was more than excited to go and see my family that night. after all, who DOESNT love family parties? so i went to school, cut some creeper guys hair, (that story comes later) and as i left, thought to myself, "man, i really need to get gas!" well qt's prices were about 3 bucks a gallon (a little pricy for a poor college student) so i thought, eh... i will wait till i get closer to g-town! on guadalupe i was driving about 40 when i looked down for a split second, not even a second, a milisecond, and looked up and realized "o crap, i have to stop now!" well candy apple and i didnt have too much luck and i rear-ended a fabulous, spiffy, nice mercedes SUV. hard. my airbags exploded, and my poor car was INSTANTLY filled with smoke. i couldnt breathe, my face was burning, and now i am freaking out cause my parents are gonna be sooo angry! the girl jumps out of her car, helps me out, and we start the whole exchanging info process.. when o no, the EMT and police show up! instantly help me, talk to me, and take care of me! (let me tell ya, being a lifeguard sure helped in this situation as they took all my vitals and checked me for a head, neck, or back injury! anyway, i called my mom, no answer. my dad is in mexico, so i call up my big brother chandler. he seemed sad, called my other brothers cause he couldnt help me at the time, and about 30 fast minutes later, my older brother brigham showed up to the rescue. thats when i broke down in tears. yes folks, little me did SUCH a good job not crying until i knew that i had family who cared and helped and came to the rescue. we got all the info situated, and brig and i were off to head home. he took care of me and my stuff, and then we headed to my sisters for her b day! on the way home, i had texts and phonecalls from so many family and friends. i cant even begin to describe how amazing that felt. i knew right then and there, without a doubt, that my family loved and cared about me. even my little niece anney came up to me and said, "readan.. whas on your face?" as i told her i got in an accident and started crying, her face dropped and made me even more sad.
i am doing much better now, just super sore. my face was burned on my chin from the airbag and scraped up, but now is pretty healed, just might have a little scar. my hand is pretty swolen and i have a REALLY hard time getting my CTR ring off.
my car is totalled, but i have the greatest sister who has offered to sell me her car. ahh i sure do love my family so much!
so moral of the story: never take your eyes off the rode. dont follow too close behind another car, and never forget that people love and care about you so much. thank you to my amazing brothers who took the place of my dad and instantly came to the rescue, to meredith for helping me deal with my car, for bethany for giving me a massage, for lindsay who offered her car to drive while i am without one, to kendall and katie for helping and caring even while sick, to chandler for answering his phone and relaying the message, and a special thanks to brigham and shelby for coming to the rescue and saving me, then helping me get to the chiropractor. i love my family so much and am so blessed. also, huge thanks for all the sweet messages and texts from everyone!
